Brian is a practicing enterprise architect, former vice president of software development, and owner of BV Strategic™, a niche consulting firm specializing in solutions to critical challenges combining business and technology innovation. He provides leadership and hands-on consulting experience to a wide variety of customers in multiple industry segments, centered around the core understanding business value in the context of organizational goals, building team-centric organizations, and selecting the right technology. Brian directly advises CIO's, CFO's and senior IT staff at Fortune 50, governmental and startup organizations with the belief that data-driven analysis and a well-prepared team can achieve these high-value transformations through software strategies. He has held executive management positions in software design, program management, architecture, test & operations, as well as marketing & new opportunity development.
Presenting regularly internally for Microsoft, Brian has also published extensively and is a regular speaker at industry conferences as well as the architecture communities of CEB and IASA Global. He has spoken at diverse conferences including Hannover Messe (manufacturing), ACM SuperComputing (high-performance computing) and International Telemetry (aeronautics). His industry domain analysis is widely respected for digital innovation in global manufacturing (chemicals, oil & gas, automotive/discrete, and high-tech), environmental science, state government, higher education, and healthcare. Prior to his IT career, he served as an officer in the United States Air Force and holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University
